Engineer Apprentice

ROLE OVERVIEW
Are you interested in becoming a DevOps engineer apprenticeship, an automation engineer, a reliability engineer, a deployment engineer, a cloud infrastructure engineer or a full-stack developer?
The In-house CloudDevOps Apprenticeship engineer will be working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment including penetration testing experience in CI/CD, Pipe Line setup and auto scaling. They will also conduct systems design, feasibility and cost studies.

- Industry recognised qualifications including: Level 4 DevOps Engineering apprenticeship, AWS/Azure/GCP, CompTIA, and the LPI.
- Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) imparting experience and knowledge to ensure you have the skills to succeed
- Practical experience of hands-on learning to solve real life business challenges
- You will work closely with the DevOps team to ensure that deployed infrastructure meets quality and safety standards
- You will build and maintain data pipelines (including those from 3rd party sources and APIs)
- You will automate repetitive data tasks using tools like Python/Spark/AWS/Ansible
HELPFUL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JSON, YMAL, Databases, Python
- JavaScript, and exposure with ideally one or more of the following:
– jQuery, React/Next.js, Angular, Vue
- Cross-browser/device testing
- GitHub workflow management
- Knowledge and exposure to web accessibility guidelines
- Understanding of domains & hosting environments, inc. Plesk, cPanel & Linux
- Used AWS, Azure and GCP cloud platforms
- Understanding of customer needs and key considerations for user experience
- Understanding of SEO
- Used Linux and BASH
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
General qualification requirements
STEM related Level 3 qualifications such as:
- A levels
- NVQs
- BTEC
- Level 3 Apprenticeship
Entry through experience if you don’t have the above required qualifications:
- 2 years working experience in an IT or related digital field.
- Learners from a non-related IT field will need to pass and complete a mini tech project and aptitude test.
Please note: If you don’t have GCSE English and maths at the required level (A* – C or 9 – 4) you will undertake a Level 2 Functional Skills exam as part of the apprenticeship.
