Contact – a theatre and performing arts venue on Manchester’s Oxford Road which create and produce own shows, host tours from some of the best theatre companies in the world and develop the next generation of artists, performers and community leaders.   

Contact are looking for a range of Technicians to join their casual pool. They are looking for a wide range of skills in technical theatre and logistics. Reporting to the Production Manager, these roles will support Contact in getting the building ready for performances, recommissioning and help with the wider artistic and commercial programme of events. 

What to expect (more in information pack available through “Apply Now” link)

• Assist in all areas of technical theatre for activities at Contact, including but not limited to: lighting; sound; audio visual; stage management; other technical effects
• Assist in production rigging and construction of settings, scenery, furniture and special effects.
• Depending on your experience, duties such as operating lighting, sound, AV equipment, and stage management for technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals, performances and other projects.
• Assist in preparation of all spaces within Contact for a wide variety of events including; dance showcases, plays, pantomimes, musicals, exhibitions, workshops, rehearsals, conferences, live music, club nights, poetry readings, arts festivals, meetings, and more.
• Undertake training to improve technical knowledge and capability, and training in other areas such as anti-racism and safeguarding.
