Yes.

The course can be completed 100% remotely.

You will often have the option to attend a masterclass or workshop in-person at our Learning Hub at The Sharp Project, but you will always be able to access them via a live Zoom link.  

There is a requirement for a physical signature before you start. If you are unable to attend the site at all, you can let us know during sign-up and we can talk through options.

This course aims to offer opportunities to 18-24 year olds in Greater Manchester who are not currently in education, training or full time employment.

Yes. The course is for young people aged between 18 and 24. You must be within this age range when the course begins.

The course is for 6 weeks and will start every few weeks until April 2023.

Participants may need to be available for bank holidays during their course.

If your application reaches the next stage, you will need to have an interview. You will know if you have been successful within 2 weeks of your interview. There will be an opportunity, after a successful interview, to select your course start date.

This is an unpaid course with many great opportunities to progress onto once you’ve graduated.

Unfortunately, this course is only available to young people who live within the Greater Manchester region.

The Greater Manchester region includes the council boroughs of Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Manchester, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan.

Yes. To participate in the course, you will need:

  • A laptop or desktop PC or Mac
  • An internet connection
  • Access to Zoom (including a compatible camera and microphone on your computer)
  • a mobile phone and email address

Unfortunately, you may not be able to work full time while on this course.

The course is 6 weeks long and estimated to need approximately 15-20 hours a week. Some of the course can be completed in your own time but other parts of the course will be delivered live. You will need to complete all modules.

The course is not open for those in full time education during the course period. If you are leaving college/university before your course starts then you can apply.

This course is designed to give you digital life skills relevant to all industries, the opportunity to study specific skills in greater depth and an overview of different content production that occurs in Greater Manchester and the North-West.

You do not need specific experience to take part in the course but knowledge of social media content, TV channels, streaming services (such as YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+) and an interest in creative content would be a plus in your application.

Applications are open until 28 March 2023. There will be 13 courses run over the 12 months, and interviews will close approximately 10 days before each course starts.

There is no formal work placement as part of this course, however every participant will interview with a creative digital professional. As well as the tools, skills and resources to find work and/or further training.
