Following on from the success of their previous apprentices, Merseygrid Ltd is now looking for their next IT Apprentice. This role will allow you to be part of a professional team who only provides expert delivery of technical services.
MGL help schools to use technology effectively. Whether this means delivering more engaging and enjoyable learning experiences to pupils, ensuring the school network and hardware are working properly, a secure and stable internet connection, a robust full system back-up, a great school website, phone systems and printing solutions.
From day 1, you’ll be involved in various helpdesk-based tasks such as actioning support tickets, responding to pupils/staff and identifying issues. During the Apprenticeship, you will work closely with the services director who has many years’ experience within the IT industry. They have worked with Apprentices previously so will know first-hand on how to successfully guide you to complete the programme!
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Provide first line helpdesk support for client queries
- Provide remote support to any MGL technical support school via Logmein
- Ensure all systems managed are up to date with anti-virus software and software updates. To be monitored in conjunction with the school technician
- Tasks such as password resets
- Supporting new software/hardware rollouts
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.
Desired Qualities, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Great communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to use your own initiative
- Customer service experience
- Can work well within a team
- Good understanding of tech
- You must have a driving license for this role
- Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and English or Level 2 functional skills or equivalent
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £14,000 – £18,000 Per annum
- Working Monday – Friday
- Shifts of 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 25 Days holiday + bank holiday
